The use of non-explosives for rock and concrete breaking

The use of non-explosive demolition agents is gradually becoming popular. Newer variants of these non-explosive agents are being regularly churned out. Presently, the most popular non-explosive demolition agent is expansive concrete, this is required to be mixed with water and then poured into pre-drilled holes in the rocks in a certain diameter. The chemical agent expands with the help of the hydration process which in turn generates cracks and ultimately the rock breaks. This is a very useful way of breaking rocks or concrete, particularly in environmentally sensitive places. Initiation igniter is used for blasting in rock breaking work.

The expansive concrete is generally a byproduct of cement which has the capacity to expand when it is hydrated. The time required for the cracks to break will depend on the type of rocks where this agent has been applied. In the modern times, these non-explosives are being extensively used for breaking rocks and reinforced concrete. These agents are very powerful and are capable of generating more than 18,000 PSI of energy. The best part is these agents are very safe to use and can be operated by anyone. Unlike the conventional explosives, there is no requirement of permits or licenses to go ahead with the project.

Construction companies need to encounter various challenges when they take up a rock or concrete breaking project. The use of traditional explosives always possesses a big threat to the people living nearby the project site and simultaneously it can also cause a lot of environmental pollution by the means of vibrations, toxic fumes and fly-rocks. With the use of the non-explosives, these conditions are not there. Currently, these non-explosive demolition agents are being used for making boulders, embedded rock, marble quarrying, granite quarrying, limestone quarrying and many such projects.

Any form of rock or concrete breaking work with the help of the traditional explosives involves a lot of factors. Heavy machinery, trained personnel and safety measures are the main aspects to which the construction companies need to focus on. When the non-explosive demolition agents like the one mentioned here are used, the construction company is also able to reduce the overhead costs significantly. Maybe, not all the terrains have been yet explored, but already there are favorable signs that this new procedure of rock and concrete breaking is going to be popular. Soon, we might witness the advent of much improved no-explosive agents, this will make such projects incredibly easy to manage.
